Why is Prevention important? Youth substance abuse is linked to many negative outcomes for kids including: · school absenteeism · academic difficulties · lack of motivation · interpersonal violence · death and injury caused by accidents · ADDICTION
Our Staff Jo Lynn Tappe Prevention Coordinator Jo Lynn has been with ROPES for five years. Jo Lynn came to ROPES after having been a teacher, both in high school and college settings, for 18 years. Her experience has helped in many aspects of the job, from organizing to understanding student and teacher perspectives. Jo Lynn received a bachelor of science degree in Business and Economics with a Secondary Education teaching certificate from Culver-Stockton College. Jo Lynn is a member of the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association (IADDA).
Adrianne Fisch Prevention Specialist Adrianne has been with ROPES since November 2007. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Utah. Prior to graduating Adrianne completed an internship at the office of the Utah Attorney General where she worked on a domestic violence program called Cut It Out and an underage drinking prevention campaign called Parents Empowered.
